From One War, To Another
Arc 1
Part 2
Darius Get's Lucky
As he steps inside he notices scattered drawers broken down doors and a severe lack of objects and materials.
As he walks further inside he sees more and more of the same, even secret compartments that have been pried open and scavenged bare.
With this, he knows for sure that these ruins had been the subject of mass looting over the centuries, as none of the scavenged areas looked fresh at all, and even had dust, dirt, and mushrooms all over them.
He walks down the hallway when, he heard a robotic voice, “Alecel Recognized Begining Miracle Protocol!!”
The wall beside him to his right begins receding like it's made nanites layer after layer receding until the 3-foot thick wall is gone.
A feminine figure begins to emerge from its shadowy depth, as she does so her blue color, much like the metal of the ruins, starts to become visible from the shadows.
Finally, she stands fully visible before Darius, clearly robotic in appearance, but also strangely human in likeness.
Her blue metal shell covered with various runic arcane tattoo like symbols all over arms upper torso spine and wrapping around her legs.
Her black cable like hair with silver ring like beads in her hair falling around her face as her surprisingly nervous looking lively blue metal eyes with glowing blue rings around and in the iris area, dart around the room.
She stands there bowing to Darius, she then decides to take it a step further and gets on her knees, as she begins to retrieve something.
The Automaton says nervously, “Master I may not have much, and I may be an older model, but for centuries I have waited, I have longed, for an ancient being such as yourself to arrive. Now n-now finally you are here, I wish for you to be my owner, m-master….please receive me. (She take out a high tech sword handle and hilt without a blade holding it out in her palms offering it up to him.) It may not be much but please take this Arcane Bladeshot as a gift of goodwill, and an offering……”
Darius stares at her while thinking, 'Huh, well this was lucky. I don't have much intel about this world, and while her information may be outdated but it's better than nothing.'
Darius, "Alright, I accept you not as my tool but my subordinate, the requirement is complete loyalty, comprendo."
The Automaton, "Y-yes, yes of course, but what shall I call you."
Darius replies nonchalantly, "Alpha."
The Automaton, "Alpha?"
Darius, "Ha ha, no I'm just joking. Just call me Darius."
The Automaton, “Darius……?”
Darius, “Yes, Darius.”
Lexi, “Oh.. Darius the present day variation of the ancient Alecel racial name Doriac, very popular in the Northern Frostlands... It is a very good name, sir.”
Darius takes the Arcane Bladeshot, as it is still in Lexi’s open palms as she remained bowing on her knees this whole time. Upon receiving him receiving the weapon it’s blade materializes and Lexi slowly stands, looking very satisfied.
Darius grunts and asks, "By the way what is your name?"
The Automaton, "My name is Lexi sir."
Darius, “Well then, Lexi do you know where the nearest town is?”
Lexi, “Yes. There is a town exactly ten miles away from here, it is called Looter’s Dive. We would just have to cut through the forest as scanners conclude the road is long since overgrown to the point of it being unrecognizable.”
Darius, “Good. Then we’ll head through the forest, too Looter’s Dive, and you'll brief me on your current intel on the way.”
Lexi, "Intel... Does that mean intelligence? If so I only have the Historical Records from before the Ancients Final Stand, and information collected from local surveillance."
Darius, "That'll have do for now. After we reach town we will focus on intelligence gathering, the necessary equipment, supplies, and gaining the locals support."
Lexi, "Darius, I meant to ask but, how are you alive, and what do you intend to do now?"
Darius, "Answer to question one, God sent me."
Lexi, "God?..."
Darius, "Yes."
Lexi, "By any chance are you not stable."
Darius, "Yes."
Lexi drops her shoulders, and stands there with her mouth wide open, in surprise.
Darius, "Answer to question two, Build an army."
Lexi, "An Army!!"
Her shout of surprise sends birds flying off the ruins into the sky.
Lexi, "Sir! I mean Darius! W-w-w-why, I mean I understand they wiped out your entire race, and the ancient Vren, and Halios, but even if you manage to amass a kingdom, and procreate, you still wouldn't have enough power to over throw the Theric, they already have half the planet!"
Darius, "Lexi was it? I am not the only one, and it's not like I have been in cryo sleep this whole time, I've been training, and accumulating real warfare experience. Besides I'm Not The Only One."
Lexi, "W-what! There are more Alecel!?!"
Darius, "Yes and No, there are four other members of the ancient race sent here by God."
Lexi, "Sir are you suuure you're not delusional from spending all these millennia fighting in secret."
Darius, "Yes. However, I do not require you to believe me just absolute loyalty. Understood?"
Lexi, "Y-yes Sir, Darius."
Darius, "Good. Now looks like we've reached the entrance, now stop questioning me and lead me toward the village."
Darius and Lexi walk out of the entrance to see the two suns low in the sky, then make a mad dash into the Archaic Rainforest. As The various animals, sing, chirp, howl, hoot, and holler.
Leaving behind the now truly empty ruins.
