 The Wild King

Arc 1

Part 1

The Journey Begins

Author; Drustan Leo Alvarez

A single ray of light casts through the decorative mosaic window above the entrance, falling onto a lone knight. He is wearing steel plate armor, his olive skin, black full wavy hair accompanying his squarish jaw and face surrounding his dark brown eyes. He is knelt on his left knee one of his swords in a scabbard in his left hand the end of the sword on the tile like a staff, his right hand in a prayer posture. He prays in front of a solid gold seven point star. He is in deep prayer meditation, to The Elder God, Jah.

Solid plain gray stone pillars, walls, and pews make up the small Temple of Jah. The only highlights the primitive, but beautiful colored mosaic windows, the gold seven point star icon statue and it's surrounding decorative shrine. Many gold, silver, and copper coins litter in the donation pool surrounding the iconic statue.

Another knight yell's from the entrance, "Hey Drustan, It's time to go! (He waits fifteen seconds before yelling again.) Drustan! Drustan, come on everyone's waiting!"

Sir Drustan Son of Aiden is still deep in prayer meditation to The Elder God. It's not that he can't hear his friend and fellow knight. It's that he is still deep in a trance and ignoring his friend. Due to his devotion to Jah, he wishes to complete his prayer meditation, as to not disrespect his God.

He prays for another ten minutes before ending with by saying "Asha." and getting up to walk towards his friend.

As he approaches the open entrance, he sees the dim light of the light gray sky of outside, and his friend with dark hair and reddish flakes in his hair, light olive skin, and dark green eyes, standing with his back to the right-hand door his arms folded and a bored look on his face.

His friend looks up at him in surprise and says, "Thank Roth, you finally finished. You were in there forever, come on let's go."

Drustan replies in frustration, "I had to finish worship, next time don't interrupt. However I do not wish for us to duel, so we should drop the subject. Raider did you and the others eat yet, we should get going, the sun will set in three hours."

Raider jokingly answers, "Ya I wonder who's fault is that you took so long a started to think you were asleep. Heh, heh."

He grins widely not bothering to hide it while walking backwards in front of Drustan.

Drustan groans in displeasure, while trying best to ignore his friend's instigation.

Drustan speaks in a serious tone, "At any rate, we should gather, Jose, Bella, and Kelwyn, to make sure they're ready, then head out for Fattoria in Gran Fo Stato."

On the edge of a hill, covered by a grassy field, surrounded by a temperate forest that ends right before the edge of the hill, three shaggy muscular strong horses stand side by side the middle horse in lead position. An almost two yards between each horse, three knights pack their things.

A tall man wearing steel plate armor raises his face showing his brown skin, short black hair, and cobalt eyes. He is packing his saddle bag on the left horse's right. He hears some people approaching shifts his head and sees his unit's commander Drustan, and his second Raider.

He nudges the shorter leaner man also wearing light steel plate armor, his fair skin, and dark blonde hair peeking from under his brown leather hood.

He lifts his dark gray eyes, towards Drustan and Raider. He whistles at a woman in light steel plate armor to get her attention on the left side of the right horse, which is backed up enough to see its rider.

She turns at him her ruby red hair swaying in the wind, the luster of her pale skin shining off of her sapphire blue eyes. He clicks the side of his tongue, and tilts his head twice toward Drustan and Raider, pointing her in the right direction while also getting the horses attention who also turn their heads.

Her eyes widen at the sight of her commanding officers. She shifts her sight to Drustan, biting her lip as her pupils dilate.

Meanwhile, her fellow knights, Kelwyn, and Jose hurriedly finish packing their things, she turns her head towards them, unexpectedly, and see what they're doing then does the same.

They quickly finish and assemble before their commanding officers, single file, side by side, backs straight, hands by their sides, all out of habit.

Drustan and Raider arrive before them.

Drustan asks, "Is everyone ready, it's going to be a long journey?"

Raider responds, "Come on Drustan, Don't they look ready? (He grins.) If they weren't ready wouldn't they still be packing their things? Heh heh."

Drustan, "Raider, you now as well as I do their habits that were heavily hammered into them during their days at the barracks, and the etiquette that comes along with it. Besides I am sure you saw them rushing to pack everything as I did."

Raider replies, "Haha, I can't ever fool you or can I? (He grins again) Heh heh. Alright, you heard the man is everyone ready?"

Jose, Bella, and Kelwyn reply all at once, "Sir Yes Sir!"

Drustan, "Alright, good. Raider and I will get our horses, and then we will set out."

Raider, "Always so serious. Heh heh."

Drustan and Raider then went to the nearest left tree on the edge of the forest, where the reins of their two horses were tied.

The unit of knights with Drustan in the lead, then set off from the edge of the hill surrounded by a temperate forest, the steeple of The Elder God Jah's small temple fading into the background as they enter the unclaimed foothills, leaving behind the Kingdom of Esvritaina.
